In the quiet, quaint English county of Midsomer, all is not as it seems, as the series star, Inspector Barnaby is kept very busy by the inhabitants, who display a propensity for murder. There’s a new crime-fighter in Midsomer when Britain’s best-loved detective drama returns with a brand new series – and a new partner-in-crime for Barnaby.
Gwilym Lee (Restless, Fresh Meat, The Hollow Crown) joins the cast of Midsomer Murders as DS Charlie Nelson, starring alongside Neil Dudgeon as DCI John Barnaby in five new two-hour episodes.
The regular team is completed by the return of Sarah (Fiona Dolman), together with Sykes the dog and Tamzin Malleson as pathologist Dr Kate Wilding. Kate becomes landlady to DS Nelson and, together with the Barnabys, helps him celebrate his first Christmas in Midsomer.
